Severity: normal

Hi,

It seems that the news log files are named as "/var/log/news.*"
rather than "/var/log/news/news.*". Here are some relevant lines
from the "syslog-ng.conf" file,

    destination df_facility_dot_err { file("/var/log/$FACILITY.err"); };

    # news.err                        /var/log/news/news.err
    log {
            source(s_all);
            filter(f_news);
            filter(f_at_least_err);
            destination(df_facility_dot_err);
    };

The "logrotate.d/syslog-ng" file also expects the news log files
to be named "/var/log/news/news.*".

Personally, I prefer both the news and mail log files to reside
directly in "/var/log", but I may be in the minority here.

Thanks,
