Hello,

currently, with ide-scsi, I'm able to symlink /dev/cdrecorder
to /dev/scd0 and cdrdao detects the right device without me
being forced to add some --device 0,0,0 or something like that.
When I try to avoid the use of ide-scsi, this works fine,
as long as I use --device ATAPI:/dev/hdd, but if I just
symlink /dev/cdrecorder to /dev/hdd, cdrdao tells me, it needs
some device name which resolves to an SCSI device.

It would be nice to have the symlink-feature with ATAPI devices
too.

This is probably something to forward to the upstream author.

Thanks for your work.

regards,
   Mario
