Dear maintainers,
the latest nvidia-kernel-module seem to cause freezes of the whole system.
After updating kernel and nvidia-packages (and no other system relevant
packages!), this bug appears. The whole system is completely freezing and
has to be hard resettet. There is even no way, to get access to the system
any more, even not with network access. To verify, it is not the new kernel,
I deinstalled the new one, and installed the old, fine working kernel
(2.6.21-1-amd64). No success ! So I upgraded the kernel, and downgraded the
nvidia-packages. The bug disappeared. Upgrading again to 100.14.11 the
freeze appeared again.
This is (IMO) the proof: The bug is either in the nvidia-kernel-module or
(as they belong together) in nvidia-glx package.
Thank you for your help !
Regards
Hans-J. Ullrich
