Hi,
serial comms is seriously broken. You can transmit but can't really receive
any data. This was fixed upstream starting Aug 17th, with file.c rev 1.25:

The latest upstream release (20041019) should hopefully fix this.
I agonized over not calling this bug "important". It is critical for me.
