Package: libwxbase2.6-0
Version: 2.6.3.2.2-1
Severity: wishlist
Some projects seem to require wxwidgets 2.8.x which seems to have been
available for a long time but isn't available in debian yet. Are there
plans for inclusion already or reasons against?
Openspeak would be one such project. As a free alternative to Teamspeak
it's still in its infancy but making it easier to build it would be a
good thing.

[ I'm closing this bug report, because the poster clearly hasn't read
any of the existing reports on the same subject, and adding even more
of them seems unlikely to improve that situation for others. ]
Josef, of course there are plans and reasons, you can even find most
of them on the web. Openspeak still looks like it's in a state where
you want to be running off the development snapshots of it and wx
anyhow so I don't think its going to influence them much for Lenny
at this stage. If that changes, and it too becomes a release
candidate, then it will become part of the equation naturally enough.
Until then, it is already complicated enough that there is presently
no complete solution.
So yes, your concern and need is noted, but this isn't a 'new bug'
or information that will help resolve it per-se. Sorry. It will
be fixed as soon as all the things that are still 'in their infancy'
mature a bit more. Right now Debian mostly just has to be patient
until they do.
