Package: eclipse
Version: 3.2.1-4

Hi,
after successfully building the famous HelloWorld Java Application I wanted to use eclipse as HTML editor so I installed the WebStandardTools via SoftwareUpdates|FindAndInstall from Callisto.

Installation was successful, all expected Web-Features present.
Changed default editor for html to 'HTML Editor'.
But when I open an html - nothing happens (MouseCursor indicates 'pleaseWait') - eclipse is hung up.

So I reset the defaul editor for html back to WebBrowser an tried to open the same html - works fine.
Then 'open with | Text editor' - works fine.
But 'open with | HTML Editor' - hangs up

The only file I was able to open was a small (Hello-World-like) html I created within eclipse. But existing htmls from different locations all crashed. It's all the same, whether inside an Eclipse-WebProject or another Project or anywhere from my Filesystem.

Can WST only handle files created within Eclipse? Do I need another plugin? Should I use the eclipse from eclipse.org? Should I avoid the plugins from Callisto? Did I miss a configuration issue?

(Gosh! With MS Vista coming I MUST MIGRATE TO LINUX and I need a working IDE! Wonder if the PDT and CDT-plugins will work if the WST doesnt.
OK, bluefish will be fine for html, but C/C++ is too hard with bluefish.)

Greetings
Mechthild

I'm very sorry to hear that.

I'm closing this bug. Please reopen wen you have more details that might
help tracking this down.

Cheers,
