Package: python2.3
Version: 2.3.5-3
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software
I have some nagios scripts written in python, and have rolled them out
to a Debian server which previously didn't have python installed. I
installed it, and during the postinstall this message appeared:
'import site' failed; use -v for traceback
This also appears each time python is invoked, which affects the output
of these scripts, which causes nagios to fail as this output is
unexpected.
Googling for this message suggests it's a problem with site.py in
/etc/python2.3 or /usr/lib/python2.3, the former doesn't exist on this
system although packages.debian.org reports that currently in testing,
python2.3 does provide it.
Thanks.

- Fix issue #1336, a race condition in subprocess.Popen.

a config file. Closes: #309719, #413172, #457361.
