I would request you to please shift Build-Depends to use the new
gfortran based Lapack and Blas packages in order to phase out packages
dependent on the old g2c (g77). In this regard, I would request you to

installability of the g77 and gfortran based suitesparse-metis

soname of the shared libraries to lib*.so.3.1.0. This will avoid
problems with the future releases of the package.
Thanks to Rafael Laboissiere for this change which was previously applied
in the suitesparse package. Also thanks to Adam C. Powell IV for the
soname numbers suggestions.
