I'm working on a C++ project. I'm handling the makefile infrastructure
using automake/autoconf and friends. wc returns the line count of .cpp and
.h files as 1690.
sloccount returns:
sh: 3330 (81.36%)
cpp: 763 (18.64%)
The cpp count sounds about right, but the sh count is clearly counting the
myriad files autogenerated by autoreconf.
The documentation for the sloccount option --autogen suggests that
autogenerated files will not be counted. I would have thought it would have
been relatively simple for the automake files to be detected as
autogenerated - they are always the same set of files and they have lines
like "# Generated by GNU Autoconf 2.59." in them - so it seems to me the
fact that they are counted is a bug.
