Package: bitchx
Severity: important

Sorry for having to do this :) However, this is the forth machine I have
upgraded on two different architectures, to the latest bitchx in potato.
The script that I have been running for the last 3 years, enigma
(available from some bitchx ftp's, or I can provide it), stops working
with this latest version.

This is causing me to have to learn the bitchx commands for what I used to
use the script aliases for (not really learn, but I still have to stop and
remember). Plus the scripts formatting of the ANSI was a lot easier to
read than the default bitchx setup. This is why I set this bug important,
because bitchx has become less useful than it was before the upgrade and
it is funcionally different now.

I'm not sure if this is a matter of things in bitchx being broken, or just
that pana decided to break some backward compatability. Either way, it
plain sucks :) If it is meant to be this way, then I can accept closing
this bug. If it is actually a big, then I would like it to be fixed.

Also one other little nitpick that isn't really important. Whenever I
/detach and use scr-bx to reattach, then input line contains "nux". This
happens every time, and has also just started with the recent upgrade.

Ben

The ircii-pana package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/451373 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
