Package: bitchx-gtk
Severity: important
Version: 1:1.0-0c16-1

Hi drow,

Let me repeat what I said on IRC already :/

It doesn't start up properly invoked from the menu entry; it just displays
the window separated in two parts, a "[0]" prompt, but doesn't do anything
else, nor does it let me close it elegantly. I had to kill it.

It behaves the same if I start it up from an xterm with "gtkBitchX &",
i.e. backgrounded. After I kill it, that xterm has weird stty settings,
e.g. intr=^? which is a bit absurd; however they aren't set that way during
the program execution, i.e. I can't interrupt gtkBitchX by pressing
^C, backspace nor delete in the xterm window. Note that I can't start it
foregrounded and then background it with a ^Z.

One related thing: when I pressed ^Z in a working gtkBitchX window, the
prompt froze, not letting me type in anything else. The menus and context
menus worked for some time, but after a few seconds of keypresses, trying
to make it work, it completely halted.

One unrelated thing: when I right-clicked on a nickname it immediately
printed this message: "-:- No module specifed, or file does not exist".
Perhaps the window was too large so it thought I had left-clicked something?
That's strange.

Severity is set to important for obvious reasons. :(

Please fix this. TIA. I'll go try xchat now.

The ircii-pana package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/451373 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
