Package: adept-installer

Severity: normal
Other APT front-ends, like aptitude, have the invaluable ability to be
started even when they couldn't be effectively used to trigger
modifications of the system. aptitude can be started even if the user is
not root, which, BTW, enables the user to safely check what he wants to
do, and only restart aptitude with sudo or promote it to root from
within only when it is sure of the selected actions. Of course, then,
aptitude can be started even if another application holds a lock about
APT or dpkg.
It would be good if Adept could provide the same features.
