Package: gaim
Version: 1:1.3.0-1

The "Evolution Integration" plugin, /usr/lib/gaim/gevolution.so, cannot
be loaded because it is linked to nonexistant Evolution libraries (on a
current unstable system).

When starting gaim with the -d flag, it says
plugins: /usr/lib/gaim/gevolution.so is unloadable: libedata-book.so.1:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

These libedata* are installed:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -l | grep libedata
ii libedata-book1 1.2.2-5 Backend library for evolution address
books
ii libedata-cal1. 1.2.2-5 Backend library for evolution
calendars
ii libedataserver 1.2.2-5 Utily library for evolution data
servers
ii libedataserver 1.0.4-1 Utily library for evolution data
servers
ii libedataserver 1.2.2-5 GUI utily library for evolution data
servers

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/lib$ ls -gG libedata*
lrwxrwxrwx  [...]  libedata-book-1.2.so.2 -> libedata-book-1.2.so.2.1.0
-rw-r--r--  [...]  libedata-book-1.2.so.2.1.0
lrwxrwxrwx  [...]  libedata-cal-1.2.so.1 -> libedata-cal-1.2.so.1.2.1
-rw-r--r--  [...]  libedata-cal-1.2.so.1.2.1
lrwxrwxrwx  [...]  libedataserver-1.2.so.4 ->
libedataserver-1.2.so.4.0.0
-rw-r--r--  [...]  libedataserver-1.2.so.4.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx  [...]  libedataserver.so.3 -> libedataserver.so.3.2.3
-rw-r--r--  [...]  libedataserver.so.3.2.3
lrwxrwxrwx  [...]  libedataserverui-1.2.so.4 ->
libedataserverui-1.2.so.4.1.2
-rw-r--r--  [...]  libedataserverui-1.2.so.4.1.2

Create a link for the file gaim looks for:
$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libedata-book-1.2.so.2 /usr/lib/libedata-book.so.1

Then, gaim reports there is another one missing (again from "gaim -d"):

plugins: /usr/lib/gaim/gevolution.so is unloadable: libebook.so.8:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

These libebook* are installed:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -l | grep libebook
ii libebook1.2-3 1.2.2-5 Client library for evolution address
books

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -gG /usr/lib/libebook*
lrwxrwxrwx  [...] /usr/lib/libebook-1.2.so.3 -> libebook-1.2.so.3.1.1
-rw-r--r--  [...] /usr/lib/libebook-1.2.so.3.1.1

Again, create a link for it:
$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libebook-1.2.so.3 /usr/lib/libebook.so.8

Then it works. The plugin shows up in the list and is also functional.

Regards
Thomas
