After recent update with apt-get dist-upgrade the GDM had addition of
Themes pulldown menu. I selected a new theme and it actually did change
to another one just fine. After rebooting the theme of GDM went back to
the default setting. After trying this few more times I always get the
same result. The theme change doesn't want to stick. I've researched a
little and added 3 lines to ~/usr/gdm/gdm.conf
AllowGtkThemeChange=true
GtkTheme=Crux
GtkThemesToAllow=all
Now after the reboot theme "Crux" comes up on GDM (not the default one).
This is great, but everytime I want to change the theme I have to edit
the line GtkTheme="whatever theme I like"
Hopefully this is a quick fix... Please make choosing from the Theme
pulldown menu work. THNX
