Some mp3s work fine for me. One example that doesn't play correctly is
here: <URL:http://www.2600.com/offthehook/rafiles/2002/112002.mp3>
It plays fine with xmms or alsaplayer.
The speeding up led me to think that it has some mono/stereo problem.
I'm using the alsa plugin, if that matters.

The zinf package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.
For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/423359 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
