Guile cannot dlopen "plain" dynamic libraries anymore.
For example:
guile> (dynamic-link "/lib/libc.so.6")
ERROR: In procedure dynamic-link in expression (dynamic-link "/lib/libc.so.6"):
ERROR: file: "/lib/libc.so.6", message: "file not found"
ABORT: (misc-error)
However, it can still open libtool's ".la" files.
This is particulary embarassing for the many libraries (like the libc) that
do not have ".la" files available.
This has happened since I have recently upgraded guile1.4 from -5 to -24,
which installs libltdl3 as a dependency, maybe this comes from there.

The guile1.4 package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
