I use this format string for the track title (Preferences -> Title):
%p: %t - %a [%y]
which should print:
Artist: Title - Album [year]
This works fine for MP3 files, but it does not display the year for Ogg
Vorbis files: I get empty [] brackets.
Note that the file information box for Ogg Vorbis files shows the year
just fine.

The xmms package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.
