Package: xmms
Version: 1.2.6-1
Severity: important
Although xmms does warn about possible crashes with real time priority,
I've never had it happen until now. I've been running xmms for a long
time with real time priority (over a year), however after the latest
upgrade, I found that my system would completelly lock up (not even
network access) after starting xmms. After a bit of investigation, I
found that removing the suid bit, or disabling real time priority stops
it from crashing the system.
My processor is an AMD Athlon Thunderbird if that helps.

The xmms package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.
For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/461309 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
