Some packages take quite some time to build. So it is somewhat
counterproductive to destroy the work that has already been done by
cleaning the build directory with dpatch-edit-patch.
A possible workaround would be an option to copy the source directory
to a second work directory, which would then be cleaned and cloned for
the edit.
>From my understanding of the dpatch-edit-patch source code, the
corresponding patch to dpatch-edit-patch is reasonably easy, so I can
provide one if the maintainers indicate they would take a patch adding
that functionality.

dpatch 2.0.13 is now in unstable, which closes the bugs that were
fixed in experimental for 2.0.12 and 2.0.11.
