Package: postgresql-autodoc
Version: 1.30-2
Severity: important
When running with the following version of libdbd-pg-perl, handling of
the "foreign key" section of postgresql-autodoc fails
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp> dpkg -l libdbd-pg-perl | grep ii
ii libdbd-pg-perl 2.1.3-3 Perl DBI
driver for the PostgreSQL database server
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/architecture/contacts> /usr/bin/postgresql_autodoc -d
newcontacts -h localhost -p 5433 -u cbbrowne -s public
DBD::Pg::st execute failed: ERROR: invalid input syntax for integer:
"ARRAY(0x84978fc)"
DBD::Pg::st fetchrow_hashref failed: no statement executing
(and similar errors, with different values for the ARRAY(), every time
autodoc discovers a foreign key)
Graphs and diagrams are successfully generated, after this, however they
lack data about foreign keys, which significantly degrades usability.
It seems likely to me that a proper resolution to this is to indicate
a version dependancy in postgresql-autodoc for version 1.49 of
libdbd-pg-perl.
Note: I have reported the issue upstream to the author (Rod Taylor,
[EMAIL PROTECTED]); there should eventually be an updated version of
autodoc that accomodates newer versions of DBD::Pg, but I think that
there will be some degree of version dependancy that isn't presently
expressed in the packaging.
Note, I have been able to successfully work around the matter by
downgrading to version 1.49-5 of libdbd-pg-perl.

in HTML,
Closes: 469715
Changes:
postgresql-autodoc (1.31-1) unstable; urgency=low
.
* New upstream version.
+ Fixes compatibility with recent libdbd-pg-perl. (Closes: #469715)
* debian/rules:
+ Touch config.mk before running 'make distribution-clean', so that we
never try to use upstream's rule to create it.
+ config.sub and config.guess are unused by ./configure, so remove
altogether.
* debian/control: Remove build dependency on autotools-dev.
* Makefile: Remove change to config.mk creation rule from Debian diff.
