Package: mew-beta
Version: 4.0.65-5
Severity: wishlist

Hi, I'm maintainer of Debian mew-beta package.

Mew 4.0.68 (beta version of Mew 4.1) has recently been released,
which includes the "unread mark" feature. Someone might hope new
upstream version of mew-beta package will shortly be released.

But I feel Mew 4.0.68 is buggy. At this point, I don't release
mew-beta 4.0.68 for Debian unstable/testing.  (Debian 3.1 (sarge)
will include Mew 4.0.65 + bug fixes.)

In future, I'll release new upstream version of mew-beta package
for Debian unstable, and close this bug.

For your information:

You can locally build a Debian package of Mew 4.0.68 by the
following procedure:

  # apt-get install devscripts fakeroot wget
  # apt-get build-dep mew-beta
  $ apt-get source mew-beta
  $ wget ftp://ftp.mew.org/pub/Mew/beta/mew-4.0.68.tar.gz
  $ tar zxf mew-4.0.68.tar.gz
  $ mv mew-4.0.68.tar.gz mew-beta_4.0.68.orig.tar.gz
  $ mv mew-4.0.68 mew-beta-4.0.68
  $ cp -r mew-beta-4.0.65/debian mew-beta-4.0.68/
  $ cd mew-beta-4.0.68
  $ dch -v 4.0.68-0.0.1
  $ debuild -rfakeroot -uc -us
  $ cd ..
  # dpkg -i mew-beta-bin_4.0.68-0.0.1_i386.deb mew-beta_4.0.68-0.0.1_all.deb
