Package: maxdb-server
Version: 7.6.00.12-1
Severity: normal

dr-xr-sr-x root/root 0 2005-09-15 07:14:18 ./usr/lib/maxdb/programs/bin/

(etc)

This makes unpacking & removing of this package as a normal user
impossible without an intermediate chmod, making other stuff more
complicated (such as breaking lintian, or someone repacking the package,
or someone unpacking it to inspect the contents). It doesn't add any
security to remove write access for the owner, which is root: (1) the
owner can add the write bit anyway, (2) the owner is root.

Could you please ensure all files have u+w set?

Thanks,

The maxdb-7.5.00 package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/461456 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
