Package: ezpublish-src
Version: 2.2.8-2

As per a request by the package maintainer I am
submitting the following feature request e-mail

eZ Publish 3.x is a complete rewrite.

If there will be an ezpublish3 package in Debian it
will most probably
be separate one from from the current ezpublish-src
package.

I have made several attempts on packaging eZ Publish
3.x, but so far
hasn't succeeded to a degree I found satisifying
myself. I don't know
if
I ever will - due to the fundamental design of the
package (it is meant
for webmasters to have full access to the variuos
parts of the files,
not for distributors to lock some parts as being
static.

Please, if you want to discuss this further then file
a bugreport
against the current ezpublish-src and quote this
response. Make the
bugreport as "wishlist", to note that you are talking
about a kind
request, not an actual bug of the package.

The reason for filing a bugreport is that that way
others with same
thoughts as you can get a head start of our thoughts
on the matter
before commenting on it (instead of me having to
repeat the above every
time someone asks me privately).

Kind regards,

~ - Jonas

The ezpublish package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/442951 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
