It seems likely to me that these crashes are related to text-console
issues eboard had.

According to upstream changelog, some text-console related crashes have
been fixed in 1.0.4. The 1.1.1 debian package is on the way, and indeed,
I am unable to reproduce any of the previously frequent crashes.

If you find these crashes to persist in 1.1.1, please add a detailed
description how to reproduce them and I'll reopen the bug.
