Package: exim-tls
Version: 3.35-3woody1
Severity: normal

On install if the following lines:

tls_certificate = /etc/exim/certificate
tls_privatekey = /etc/exim/certificate
tls_verify_hosts = $LOCAL_NETWORK (ask if necessary)

are not already present in the exim
configuration file then they should be added and a key generated:

openssl req -x509 -newkey rsa:1024 -keyout /etc/exim/certificate \
  -out /etc/exim/certificate -days 9999 -nodes

At the very least this should be documented in a prominent location such
as EnablingTLS.txt.gz.

This caused me some headaches when I first installed the program as I
did not know there was more that I needed to do.

exim and exim-tls have both been removed from Debian (exim after
etch's release, exim-tls even earlier). Since this bug does not apply
to the successor package exim4 (There is no separate exim4-tls
package.) I am closing the bug.
