Package: libncurses5
Version: 5.5-5

When i try to connect to remote ftp service using command-line
client, i am prompted to enter user name after connection is established.
I type the right login name and post it to server. That time communication
hangs and login will fail on timeout.
By the openssh-client it hangs after sendig a password,
by the telnet client not even the connection is establised.
When I use an GUI ftp-client (konqueror), it works OK!!
I have made listing using tcpdump; server repeats responses as I have never
send
user name (ftp command USER), and client forever repeats sending user name.
I suppose the problem in the libncurses5 package as it has the common
dependency
to packages ftp, telnet and ssh.
I send the tcpdump listing in the attachment.

I am using GNU Debian testing, kernel 2.6.12-1-k7 #1
and libc6 2.3.6-7.
