Package: ncurses-base
Version: 5.0-6
If my TERM is 'linux' I can set the console cursor color and shape
via, say
echo -e -n '\033[?17;16;240c'
(that's what I do right now)
The problem is that, if I use vim or other programs, the cursor
returns to the annoying white blinking one. This does not happen with
other distributions. The problem is in the 'linux' terminfo entry. If
I set TERM=rxvt the cursor stays the same (but then HOME and END don't
work properly). Same with xterm-color (but then PGUP and PGDN don't
work properly). Anyway, setting the term for the console to an X term
is not the right thing, so something in the 'linux' terminal
description has to be changed (I guess its an easy modification),
since Linux does have the capability of controlling cursor sizes and
colors.
I am using the last "frozen" snapshot.
