Package: xviewg
Version: 3.2p1.4-17
Severity: wishlist

Following 11.8.7 of the Debain Policy:
Packages using the X Window System should not be configured to install
files under the /usr/X11R6/ directory unless they use imake. The
/usr/X11R6/ directory hierarchy should be regarded as deprecated for all
packages except the X Window System itself, and those which use the
imake program it provides, in which case the packages may transition out
of the /usr/X11R6/ directory at the maintainer's discretion

An appropriate location for the xview help files would be
/usr/share/xview/help

I think that there is a transition period necessary where the
old directory is maintained as symbolic link so that XView
applications which install their help files there remain functional.

Best wishes
                Volker
