When I try to download an add-on campaign (for instance, the Ooze
mini-campaign), the file is downloaded but then there is a 'Network
error'.
I tried this before and after moving my previously working .wesnoth
out of the way.

Sorry, have forgotten to close it with the 1.4.3 upload which now
contains support for compressed downloads.
