My inetd.conf file contains the following entry:
ident stream tcp wait identd /usr/sbin/identd identd
This breaks for several reasons:
* the identd user does not exist (the entry used to use nobody as the user)
* the entry references /usr/sbin/identd instead of /usr/sbin/nullidentd
I'm not sure how packages register their inetd.conf entries, but it
seems that this registration mechanism did not work well here.
My netkit-inetd is at version 0.10-9, if this helps.
I've been running testing for a while and things used to work
fine. The problem was introduced by an apt-get dist-upgrade today.
