Package: tar
Version: 1.13.25-2
Severity: normal
Including the '-s' option to 'tar -x' cancels out the effect of any '-C'
option. See:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/FOO$ touch A-FILE
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/FOO$ mkdir BAR
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/FOO$ tar -c A-FILE | tar -C BAR -xs
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/FOO$ ls BAR
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/FOO$ tar -c A-FILE | tar -C BAR -x
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/FOO$ ls BAR
A-FILE
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/FOO$
The '-s' option should only sort the order of the extracted files; it
should not cancel out '-C'.
