Package: mutella
Version: 0.4.3-2
Severity: important
I tried to run mutella on a host that mounts my MP3 collection using Samba.
First, I put a symbolic link in my ~/mutella/ directory to ~/mp3 (let's say).
Mutella reported an error scanning the shared directory, but it did not crash.
I then specified "set SharePath /home/nicolas/mp3" and asked for a scan. I got
a segmentation fault.
I ran mutella on the system where the MP3 files actually sits and it encountered
no problem.
I don't know the exact name of the file that caused the segfault. I tried
running
mutella under strace, but it gave no information:
SharePath = /home/nicolas/mp3
> scan
> <unfinished ...>
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) ---
+++ killed by SIGSEGV +++
I tried with an other directory which was smb-mounted, and I got no error.
Because it worked on the same files but not through Samba, I suppose there is
a difference in the accented characters representation that I could adjust.
However, whatever strange character mutella encounters, it should not
segfault on it.
