Hey Sam!
Do you think it is a good idea to dynamically link vlc against Debian's
libfaad0? As long as there are those license issues with faad2 [0] there
is a chance that those packages -- faad2 AND vlc -- will never enter
testing.
Please feel free to decrease the bug's severity if you like. It's just
that I consider this an important issue. ;)

Hello,
Libfaad is still in debian and the license issue have been sorted.
The maintaner ahe taken care of the possible unstable API.
#404279 which was marked as blocking has been closed
So i'm closing #414725
