Package: ifrename
Version: 27-3
Hi,
I was wondering why my notebook doesn't get the ethernet card eth1
renamed to eth0 on my notebook after renaming the wlan card from
eth0 to wlan0 and thus freeing the name eth0. It said the device
was busy.
The problem seems to be hotplug. /etc/rcS.d/S40hotplug is run before
/etc/rcS.d/S40ifrename
But if I rename /etc/rcS.d/S40ifrename to /etc/rcS.d/S40aifrename
to make it run before hotplug, it works.
regards
Hadmut

Hotplug is no longer part of Debian, and name takeover was enabled by
default in ifrename 30~pre5-1. If there are still problems with
interface renaming, please open a new bug.
