Instead of /foo bar baz/, I am always searching for
/foo\_sbar\_sbaz/, since I use gq a lot and thus, linebreaks are put
at random places. It would be nice to somehow tell vim to tolerate
newlines in place characters like <space>, and after characters like
'-'. Maybe you can forward this to the vim people...

Upstream has stated that this idea won't be implemented upstream and a
vim script implementing such functionality is trivial to write (one is
included in bug log). Therefore, I'm closing the bug.
