Package: lm-sensors
Version: 1:3.0.2-1+b2
Severity: normal
Tags: lenny

Hello there,
I upgraded my system from etch to lenny, and sensord spewed my syslog full of
warnings. Turns out that the configuration file syntax changed.

Could you add a NEWS.Debian file to /usr/share/doc/lm-sensors, informing of
this change? I would propose following text:

"With lm-sensors3, the syntax for the configuration file has changed. You may
need to update your /etc/sensors.conf. Please refer to READE.gz or the man
page of sensors-conf-convert."

You may think that this is obvious, but I was unprepared and this went
unnoticed for a few days. Adding a NEWS.Debian file would also have the
advantage that programs like apt-listchanges pick up this info and display it
to the user before upgrading. And it would save people from scratching their
head and thinking "What the hell happened?".

Except for that, thank you that lm-sensors is already in such a good shape for
lenny!

Kind regards,
Lee Garrett
