getSymbolicLinkStatus is broken on i386, see
http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/2093
for details.
The fix is also there: Add AC_SYS_LARGEFILE in
libraries/unix/configure.ac (and run autoreconf). This doesn't change
the ABI.
Oh, there's also a debian bug open against darcs, which is affected by
this: #491799.
