Package: aspell-ru
Version: 0.99g5-4
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
I'm sorry for submitting a bug of this severity, but it really makes a
package unusable that I depend on a lot.
Since the last upgrade, the Russian spell checker recognises only the
base form of each word. All the flectioned forms are marked as wrong.
Who knows Russian or any other Slavic language will quickly understand,
that this makes the package unusable.
For instance: "земля" ("zemlia", earth) is recognised as correct,
whereas "земли", ("zemli", the genitive case of the same work) is marked
as error.
I have tested this with gedit, icedove, evolution, openoffice. They are
all affected in the same way. So clearly, there is an issue with the
package.

The only thing we do at built time is to generate all yo variants from
ye-only words as per upstream Makefile. We do not force usage of one
spelling over the other.
Anyhow, this bug's issue was about inflections being broken and, based
on Dmitry's above report, I will now close this bug.
RM: this means that the package may now safely be unblocked. I'll
produce similar no-change uploads for my other ispell-generated
dictionaries later this weekend.
