Pidgin defaults to not logging chats, and I find this confusing,
because in the same time Pidgin offers a first run window (or maybe
better, a first account creation window). When seeing that first run
window I think of a software that is going to stay with me, so I would
expect some more personal settings. If the program where to not offer
such a welcome window the first run I would have visited the settings.
The proposition is to either change the default, or change the first
run window by adding some way to choose some general settings. For
example a drop down box with the options: own computer (save chats,
save passwords), foreign computer (don't save anything). Of course, I
made the guess that the default is not to save because you think about
an internet cafe type of usage.

Enabling logging by default isn't really something most users can
reasonably expect to happen in a new profile. Also, a new profile
welcome screen is not in the works, in favor of sane defaults and
minimal user-configurable settings.
