Regarding "convert image to indexed colors", it is so frustrating to
have to drag it back out of the menus (or ALT i m i) each time while
experimenting with different settings, e.g., maximum number of colors.

Why can't it stay put allowing one to try different settings, like we
can on Posterize.

By the way, odd, after running the conversion, a second picking it out
of the menus (or ALT i m i) just does nothing! If one wants to see the
"convert image to indexed colors" page again, one must first undo.

Yes maybe one can say "well it has been already converted", but what
if one wants to change the maximum number of colors... OK, at least
pop up a message saying it would be better to undo first...

You can cause the Mode menu to stay around by clicking on the tearoff
(the dashed line at the top of the menus after right-clicking on an
image). Since mode conversion doesn't have a preview, it doesn't stick
around like the tools that do.
