Package: mpd
Version: 0.13.1-3
failed mpd install won't uninstall
system: 2.6.18 etch (with some lenny packages) on i386
as noted in previous bug report, installation of mpd failed on
my system. I then tried to use aptitude to uninstall, and found
that the uninstall fails.
The reason for this is that the uninstall calls init.d/mpd --stop
Probably since the install is broken, this fails. I'm going to
work around this by telling init.d file to just exit 0.
Output:
Removing mpd ...
Stopping Music Player Daemon: mpd failed!
invoke-rc.d: initscript mpd, action "stop" failed.
dpkg: error processing mpd (--purge):
subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
action: abort-remove not supported
Errors were encountered while processing:
mpd
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Good idea; thank you.
CCing original submitter here... Andrew, does installation still fail
for you on lenny with 0.13.2-1 or newer? Uninstallation no longer breaks
in the case reported in 472259 so I'm closing that.
