Package: fglrx-driver
Version: 1:8-7-2
Severity: normal
hi,
I've installed the latest debian packages generated from the ATI
installer but they seems to conflict with the versioning of the debian
ones which are older. Apt wants to upgrade to 1:8-7-2 although it's
older. Please adopt a prober versioning scheme or update to the latest
upstream version.
These are the latest packages generated by the ATI installer:
ii fglrx-amdcccle 8.532-1
ii fglrx-driver 8.532-1
ii fglrx-kernel-2.6.26-1-686 8.532-1+2.6.26-5
ii fglrx-kernel-src 8.532-1
Regards,
Serkan

Hello,
the latest upstream version is packaged and uploaded in experimental (so
on closing).
Anyway yes the Debian one package will always be detected as newer,
because it has got an epoch ("1:.*").
If we would fix this (removing the epoch) dpkg won't detect newer
versions of the Debian packages.
