Package: kernel
Version: 2.6.8-1
Severity: normal
Hi,
the standard Debian initrd automatically loads the vesafb module.
When I try to remove it (to replace it with the radeonfb module), the
kernel displays this error message:
Device 'vesafb0' does not have a release() function, it is broken and must be
fixed.

The 2.6.8 kernel is no longer supported by Debian so I'm closing
your bug report. Please try the 2.6.26 kernel from Debian lenny.
If this issue is still present, let me know.
Thanks.
