Package: samba
Version: 2:3.2.0-4
I used to use Samba 3.0.14a (on Etch) but recently I moved to Lenny with
Samba 3.2.0 but suddenly the "winbind use default domain" option
partially broke. Note that I also changed my setup to move to the new
"idmap config ...." settings. When I enable "winbind use default domain"
and I issue a "getent passwd" everything is ok: I get a list of all
users WITHOUT the default domain in front of it (user instead of
default_domain\user). But now when I issue "getent group", the group
name is also properly shown without the default domain in front of it,
but the users in the group still have the default domain in front of it,
like this (where PHYSICS is the domain):
manage_fmd_printers:x:11445:PHYSICS+Egmondr,PHYSICS+Verpoorten
My winbind config looks like this:
idmap domains = PHYSICS
idmap config PHYSICS:default = no
idmap config PHYSICS:backend = rid
idmap config PHYSICS:base_rid = 0
idmap config PHYSICS:range =10000-60000
allow trusted domains = no
winbind enum users = yes
winbind enum groups = yes
winbind use default domain = no
winbind nested groups = no
winbind normalize names = yes
winbind offline logon = true
winbind refresh tickets = true

Thanks for reporting back. With such a big package, such tracking is
always very helpful.
