gqmpeg fails to properly display tags with valid UTF-8 sequences. -- Pango
complains as follows:

Invalid UTF8 string passed to pango_layout_set_text()

Also, it generates incorrect UTF-8 from user input -- over-correcting, looks
like.

For example, the legal y-with-umlaut char \xC3\xBF is considered invalid
when read from a Vorbis file, and when entering it into the "Song Info" dialog
the bytes that result are \xC3\x83\xC2\xBF, which is a valid UTF-8 encoding for
the two 8859-1 chars \xC3 and \xBF. What's more, gqmpeg will read
\xC3\x83\xC2\xBF as a single char, while everything else breaks.

It looks to be an over-conversion problem similar to one fixed recently in
AbiWord.

The gqmpeg package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/507820 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
