Package: amarok
Version: 1.4.7-1+b1
Severity: normal

While using Amarok to manage podcasts episodes on my MP3 player, I noticed
bursts of high CPU usage (I have noisy fans to alert me of this). When I
investigated, I found that the process responsible is the X server. Now,
Amarok was essentially idle -- I wasn't playing any music, just transfering
already-downloaded episodes to the player.

I think -- but can't be sure -- that the bursts were synchronised with
the "wave" Amarok puts in the visualization area every few seconds (when
there's no music and no visualization set). Each such burst sent the
X server to a couple of seconds of 100% CPU usage.

The one thing I am really sure of (and I tested again while writing the
bug) is that these bursts startes when I started Amarok, and stopped when
I quit it.
