Package: waproamd
Version: 0.4-1
Severity: normal
I have a wireless router with wep enabled. The key is in
/etc/waproamd/keys and I copied the default script to the mac address of
the router. It works 99% of the time. However, occasionally, it will
associate with another AP with no encryption and very low signal
strength. When it does associate with this AP, it often loses the
signal, then regains it, etc. However, when this is happening, it never
associates with my
wireless router.
I see my wireless router when I run iwlist scan, and it is often listed
before the other AP when I am having trouble.
According to the man page, waproamd should associate with networks that
it has a script for first, and then whatever AP it picked up, but that
doesn't happen all the time.

The waproamd package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

http://bugs.debian.org/509389 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
