I tried to reproduce the problem I reported.
I can still reproduce the bug in lenny and sid version 0.9+svn40-1 of xzgv.
The problem is not related to zoom as Ray Kohler said in #1.
When started, xzgv does not display the thumbnails.
Thumbnails appear after pressing 'u'.
Changing the directory disables thumbnails again.
