After installing sysstat, my box now displays this while running the init
scripts at boot:
"sadc not enabled in /etc/default/sysstat, not starting. (warning)."
It looks a bit alarming, because warnings during boot tend to
mean something is (slightly) wrong. I believe it should be
silent in this case: I have not enabled the daemon, so there is
no point warning me about it.
Also, the grammar is slightly off -- two end-of-sentence periods.
Note that sysstat is useful even with the daemon (or is it a cron
job? yes, probably) disabled. It includes mpstat(1) and iostat(1), which
both are very useful vmstat-like monitoring tools.
Compare with rsync. It's a similar case (comes with a daemon, but is
useful without it) but its init script is silent by default.
Other than that, thanks for packaging these useful tools.
