Package: proftpd
Version: 1.3.1-16
Severity: normal

proftpd depends on ldap, mysql, and pgsql modules, which pull in
a lot of dependencies. There's hardly a point in splitting these
modules into packages that are then requirements. Please allow me to
run proftpd without all this database cruft attached.

Martin

you should install proftpd-basic only. The proftpd package is used
for compatibility to avoid breakage to people moving from etch
and expecting a monolithic package.

proftpd - versatile, virtual-hosting FTP daemon
proftpd-basic - versatile, virtual-hosting FTP daemon - binaries
proftpd-doc - Versatile, virtual-hosting FTP daemon - documentation
proftpd-mod-ldap - versatile, virtual-hosting FTP daemon - LDAP module
proftpd-mod-mysql - versatile, virtual-hosting FTP daemon - MySQL module
proftpd-mod-pgsql - versatile, virtual-hosting FTP daemon - PostgreSQL module
